Let’s be honest, we’ve never had so much information and as many resources as we do now. Learning has never been so easy, right? Unfortunately, the amount of available information can also be overwhelming. Improving the skills you need to finish a project or creating your own business can feel like an impossible task.

If you’re part of the group who thinks that the day should have more than 24 hours, you’re on the right page. On the EIA blog, we’re always searching for techniques, tools, and hacks that can make your entrepreneurial journey easier.

In this article, we’ve listed 10 ways to learn faster and get your work done.

1. Set mini-goals

We’re all for being ambitious, however, when you only have enormous goals that you’ll only achieve in the long run, chances are that you’ll be hit by frustration. By setting mini-goals that are short-term-oriented, you’ll constantly have that feeling of success.

You can create mini-goals for everything that you decide to learn. Set your milestones and get ready to rock!

2. Have a support network

Learning something new is not easy. Having a support network will help you through every little step of your entrepreneurial journey. You can join online forums and/or Facebook or LinkedIn groups to share your challenges with people that have been in your shoes.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions! Remember that every unicorn startup began as just an idea.

3. Find your mentors

Mentors are people with stronger skills and more experience. The best way to find a mentor is by joining an entrepreneurship program. You can also always attend networking events to meet people that have been in your place and are willing to share their experiences.

4. How-to content

When learning something new, you want to get straight to the point. Practice speed-reading and find the best books about your desired topic. You don’t need to go through every little page in detail; scan what suits you best at the moment and consult the book any time you need to.

Search for how-to content to learn practical tips about that topic. Subscribe to blogs and newsletters to stay updated and never stop learning.

5. Practice what you’re learning

The best way to learn or improve a new skill is by putting it into practice. Let’s say you want to learn about digital marketing for your startup; you don’t need to master how to create a marketing strategy in order to start applying what you learned. Follow the steps, experiment, fail, and try again.

Learning by doing is the best method. Go step by step and suddenly you’ll become a pro!

6. Take notes

It doesn’t matter if you’re reading a book, watching a video, or listening to a podcast—you must always take notes. We don’t want to sound pessimistic, but you shouldn’t trust your memory

Taking notes digitally is easier, however, studies have shown that the best way to learn a concept is by taking notes on paper. So, always have your notebook and pen ready to go.

7. Mindful Meditation

Meditating is a must for every entrepreneur. The sooner you start, the faster it’ll become a habit. You may think that it’s a bit too mystical, but a recent study in the journal Frontiers in Human Neuroscience shows that by meditating for 10 minutes, you can improve your reaction time and accuracy as proved by computer-based attention testing.

8. Sleep to learn

Don’t be fooled by stories of highly successful entrepreneurs that only sleep fours hours a night; sleep is your ally.

When you go to bed and have proper sleep, you give your brain the chance to organize all the information you learned that day (including what you’re reading now).

9. Use any downtime for learning

Queueing, commuting, lunch-breaks…we all have a fair amount of downtime that can be used for learning purposes. You can listen to a podcast, watch a video, or use your language-learning app.

Learn Faster when commuting

I know that it’s really hard to find time these days, but I know that if you start looking, you’ll find opportunities to advance on your learning journey.

10. Take a break

Learning is a thrilling process, however, you need to give your brain a break. The entrepreneurial journey is exciting and full of learning opportunities, but you don’t want to overwhelm yourself by trying to learn everything in one day.

Take breaks often enough to allow your brain to process the information. You can use techniques like Pomodoro to help you set standardized breaks.

You can also go for a walk outside or stretch your body. You’ll definitely feel better!

Are you excited to hack your learning process?! Following all of these 10 tips isn’t easy,  but if you’re aware of what you can do, we have no doubt that you’ll be on the right track to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
